~ I see ~

I see trees of green...

Red roses too...

I see em bloom... For me and you..
And I think to myself... What a wonderful world..

I see skies of blue...

Clouds of white...

Bright blessed days... Dark sacred nights...
And I think to myself... What a wonderful world...

The colours of the rainbow.. So pretty in the sky...

Are also on the faces... Of people passing by...
I see friends shaking hands...Saying.. How do you do..
They're really saying.. I.. Love.. You..

I hear babies cry... I watch them grow...
They'll learn much more... Than I'll ever know..

And I think to myself... What a wonderful world....

Sleepless In Sarawak

First* blog post for 2010.

Went to Sarawak for 2 weeks, Miri to be exact. Went to Niah, Bario, Lambir falls and many beaches throughout my stay. Hmm, reason I went there was to catch up with my photography lah, what else. Caressing Uncle Nazeri's cameras was also stupendous ! Brought the usual gear, nothing much :) A total of 9 rolls of Tri X, and 3 rolls of Velvia 50 were exposed.

Anyway here are the photos, below. Nothing unusual, just the norm. tourist point of view kinda shots.

Kicking off this post with some beachscapes.

~1)Some beach, CAN'T remember the name. Probably Bungai Beach. Underexposed and PSed to taste.

~ 2) Peliau Beach, the beach I like the most, most likely because of the uber-cool rock formations. But the pesky sand flies were ANNOYING as hell !

~3) Tanjung Peliau, nothing much here, as the tide was on the rise, thus restricting our movement.

:D People Who Define Miri :D
Then, comes the portraits. I was expecting some odd-looking characters, but most of them look like any typical west Malaysian !

~1) First, the Jade Centre, where I spent most of my time. A few cups of coffee later, here are the shots I managed to snap using a Rolleiflex 3.5E loaded with Tri X 400.

~2) The many Tamu(s) I visited. Mighty friendly people there, If I may say.

~3) Back to landscapes. Pardon my unstrategically laid out blog. Niah National Park. The hike up Niah Caves was TIRING, the worst 6kms of my life. Although proved to be rewarding, at last.

~3) Lambir Hills National Park. Hmm, nothing much to say about this place. It was raining, an I only spent 2 nights there, accompanied by Uncle Anura and his friend, whose name I always forget.

That sums up my first blog post EVER ! Till the next time. Next blog post will be on Penang. :)
